Ohio Builder Chooses AdvanTech® Flooring and ZIP System® Roof and Wall Sheathing
To Help Overcome Weather-Related Delays

Nilay Bhatt, owner of Dani Homes Limited, started building his contribution to the 2009 BIA Parade of Homes during the middle of winter, and selected AdvanTech® and ZIP System® products for their moisture barrier properties to overcome the challenging weather.

“I build six to seven, 3,000- to 5,000-square-feet homes every year, and place the highest profile home in the Parade of Homes. I began the 2009 home in mid-January, making it extremely susceptible to weather problems, like snow,” stated Bhatt. “AdvanTech flooring and ZIP System roof and wall system provide the moisture resistance that allows my crew to get homes done faster. I think this is extremely important because we are in Zone 5, a heavy snow zone, so any products that can help me keep everything dry help my business.”

AdvanTech flooring has greater water resistance, design bending strength and stiffness than commodity OSB (oriented strand board) and plywood, providing superior quality and the best warranty in the business – a limited 50-year transferable warranty and a 300-day no-sanding guarantee. It also has fastening guide marks and self-spacing tongue and groove for easy installation. AdvanTech flooring is designed to provide builders and homeowners a quiet, stiff floor because the AdvanTech panel is highly durable and stays firmly attached to the joint and finished floor surface.

“I have been using AdvanTech flooring for years, and because of the benefits I’ve received from AdvanTech flooring, I decided to try ZIP System roof and wall system,” stated Bhatt. “By appearances alone, the ZIP System wall and roof systems require no housewrap or felt to rip and repair, so the jobsite looks neater and cleaner. Not to mention that each panel is marked with fastening guide information to help my framers, and siding and roofing contractors installthem faster.”

ZIP System roof and wall sheathing are structural panels that have built-in protective barriers which eliminate the need for felt or housewrap. The seams of the panels are taped using ZIP System® tape, creating resistance to moisture intrusion and unwanted air leaks. ZIP System wall and roof sheathing expedites installation, prevents rework and provides an instant 120-day rough dry-in, allowing builders to schedule subcontractors sooner to complete the house in less time.

“If water gets into a house’s roof or walls, it can pose hazardous problems, like mold, for the home,” stated Bhatt. “ZIP System roof and wall systems help me prevent future problems as a result of moisture damage, keeping my homeowners happy for years to come.”
