Huber Engineered Woods’ New ZIP System® Web site
Online Resource Engages Visitors with Roof and Wall Sheathing Innovation

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Aug. 13, 2009) - Huber Engineered Woods LLC, leading manufacturer of innovative building solutions, has launched an interactive new Web site, ZIPSystem.com, to help builders, retailers, architects and homeowners recognize the benefits and performance of its ZIP System® roof and wall sheathing panels. The new Web site uses engaging content to demonstrate the superior moisture resistance, easy installation and air-barrier performance of ZIP System® products.

“ZIPSystem.com is an easy-to-navigate, content-rich online tool to help users better understand how and why ZIP System products combine a water-resistive and tight air barrier for a high performance build,” stated Brent Flotkoetter, ZIP System product manager of Huber Engineered Woods. “The Web site highlights product testing, industry endorsement and customer testimonials to demonstrate how ZIP System roof and wall sheathing are designed specifically to address the growing need for home performance, comfort and energy efficiency. They are the optimal solutions for structural sheathing, moisture management and superior air barrier performance, all in one.”

ZIPSystem.com is organized into easy to use segments including “ZIP System Products,” “Why ZIP System Products,” “The Science Behind ZIP,” “Installation,” “Getting Started,” and “Building Connection.”

The “ZIP System Products” segment gives an overview of the three ZIP System products—ZIP System® roof sheathing, ZIP System® wall sheathing and ZIP System® flash tape. “Why ZIP System Products?” explains how ZIP System roof and wall sheathing are designed to out-perform traditional systems that include structural panels with a secondary barrier such as housewrap or felt and includes interviews and testimonials from builders throughout the country who have switched to ZIP System products. “The Science Behind ZIP System Products” describes how ZIP System products were created through an extensive development process. “Installation” provides builders and framers complete details on how to install ZIP System products. “Getting Started” gives details on where to purchase the products, how to get rebates, incentives, literature and samples, as well as provides a cost calculator so that builders can compare the cost of using ZIP System products to their current roof and wall systems. “Building Connection” allows builders to submit testimonials, obtain information about contests and sweepstakes, and participate in surveys.

The ZIP System wall sheathing is a code-recognized structural wall panel, moisture barrier and air barrier all-in-one, providing a tight building envelope and superior moisture resistance during and after construction. ZIP System tape provides moisture resistance for panel seams and helps reduce air leaks as recommended by the Seal and Insulate with the ENERGY STAR® effort and is code recognized as window and door flashing tape (ESR-2227).

ZIP System roof panels have a built-in protective moisture barrier and eliminate the need for felt paper and H-clips. A code recognized structural panel and underlayment all-in-one, ZIP System roof panels prevent expensive rework due to torn felt, and shingles or tiles can be applied directly to the panels. Since the system is faster to install than traditional methods and provides an instant 120-day rough dry-in, it allows builders to schedule subcontractors sooner, ultimately completing the project in less time.
