PROVIDENCE, R.I. (March 4, 2011) - Huber Engineered Woods LLC, a leading manufacturer of innovative building solutions, will provide AdvanTech® flooring and ZIP System® roof and wall sheathing products for learning clinics at JLC LIVE New England 2011, which will be held at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, R.I. on March 23 through March 26, 2011. JLC LIVE brings together residential construction professionals to learn about the latest building products and techniques, and to see them in action. Building specialists, Gary Katz and Mike Sloggatt, will conduct the frame and finish clinics sponsored by AdvanTech flooring and ZIP System roof and wall sheathing.

“As builders and remodelers face tough economic times in our industry, educational events such as these clinics, help builders understand the benefits of specifying the best products and techniques available,” stated Charlie Robinson, ZIP System products general manager. “JLC LIVE is a great opportunity for residential builders to learn more about the AdvanTech and ZIP System products through practical applications that effectively demonstrate how they can complete their job faster and easier using products of the highest quality.”

AdvanTech® flooring and sheathing are known for moisture resistance and unsurpassed quality, as well as industry-leading strength and stiffness based on ESR-1785 (Evaluation Service Report) standards that exceed PS2 performance standards used by competitors. A combination of innovative resin technology and manufacturer engineering makes this product unique in the field of structural panels, and AdvanTech flooring is the only subflooring to hold the ESR certification. The AdvanTech® brand now features new panel graphics including the ESR-1785 certification on the front of the panel, a Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) logo to showcase its environmental commitment, a new fastening guide for quicker installation, and bilingual instructions to ensure 1/8-inch spacing gap. The flooring is available in 19/32-inch, 23/32-inch, 7/8-inch, 1-inch and 1 1/8-inch thicknesses. AdvanTech flooring is backed by the Huber Engineered Woods 50-year fully-transferrable warranty.

ZIP System® roof panels have a built-in moisture barrier and eliminate the need for felt paper and H-clips. A code-recognized structural panel and underlayment all-in-one, ZIP System roof panels prevent expensive rework due to torn felt, and shingles or tiles can be applied directly to the panels. Since ZIP System panels are faster to install than traditional methods and provide an instant 180-day rough dry-in, builders can schedule subcontractors sooner, ultimately completing the house in less time.

The ZIP System® wall sheathing with a built-in water-resistive barrier is a structural wall panel, moisture barrier and air barrier all-in-one, providing a tight building envelope and superior moisture resistance during and after the construction. The ZIP System® tape gun is used to install both the roof and wall products with the ZIP System tape, which provides moisture resistance for seams, valleys and ridges, can help reduce air leaks as recommended by the Seal and Insulate with the ENERGY STAR® effort, and is code recognized as window and door flashing tape when used with ZIP System wall sheathing (ESR-2227). The new ZIP SystemTM linerless tape makes the framing process even faster, while providing for less waste on the job site.

The performance standards of AdvanTech® flooring and ZIP System® roof and wall sheathing can be reviewed in the recently issued Verification of Attributes Report™ (VAR-1012) through the ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES®) Sustainable Attributes Verification and Evaluation (SAVE™) Program. This independent, third-party certification provides a technical evaluation on how AdvanTech flooring and ZIP System roof and wall sheathing meet code requirements and qualify for points under many prominent green rating systems and building standards.

The benefits of AdvanTech flooring and ZIP System roof and wall sheathing will be demonstrated at JLC LIVE New England during the frame and finish clinics, hosted by industry experts Gary Katz and Mike Sloggatt.
